“Free Spirit” — ES-2026-64683 is a blue cock bred by Team Hnos Murcia, combining documented one-loft race performance with Tom Van Gaver’s Ricky family, the Olympic Candela breeding branch and Van den Berg’s international long-distance winners Leontine and Powerboy.
At Avirings OLR 2026, where 3,214 birds started the competition, Free Spirit finished 39th in the 3 x 500 Cup and 140th in Final 3 over 521 km. These results provide his own competitive credentials alongside a pedigree rich in racing and breeding achievement.
His mother, “Miss Spain” — NL-2024-8109713, bred by Van den Berg Pigeons, achieved 19th in the 665 km Extra Final at Ribera Orbigo OLR 2024. She is bred 3 x 3 to Leontine — NL-2015-1872166, winner of 1st International Perpignan 2017 against 14,851 pigeons over 1,135 km. Free Spirit is a great-great-grandson of Leontine through two maternal branches, and also a great-great-grandson of Powerboy — NL-2016-1124556, winner of 1st International Pau 2018 against 11,739 pigeons over 1,129 km.
His father, “Ricky met Candela” — BE-2024-6190711, is an explicitly documented half-brother of Olympic Candela, whose honours include a bronze Olympic medal in the yearling category at Maastricht 2024 and 2nd International FCI World Best Pigeon, yearlings, 2023. Their shared mother, PT-2019-9204298, brings the Van Loon–Engels branch into Free Spirit’s pedigree.
The paternal grandsire, “Tiger Ricky” — BE-2022-4198258, bred by Tom Van Gaver, has produced offspring achieving 1st Regional against 5,114 pigeons over 604 km. Tiger Ricky is himself a son of Ricky — BE-2013-4142684, establishing the direct Ricky connection. An appealing combination of Free Spirit’s own OLR results, a successful long-distance OLR mother and proven performance families on both sides.

Payment Instructions:
After the auction closes (within 24 hours), the winning bidder will receive an email with a purchase confirmation and payment instructions. Please note that the total bid amount will be increased by the applicable VAT (11%).
Collection:
Collection from AviRings is possible after payment during office hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. If you wish to have your purchased pigeon(s) collected by another person (such as a friend, acquaintance, or transporter), please inform us in advance via email at info@avirings.com.
Shipping:
Shipment is possible after payment has been received. Transport costs are not included in the purchase price and must be paid separately.
Transport Options:
In November, we will organize pigeon transport to Austria, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Croatia. The transport cost will depend on the number of pigeons, approximately €10–15 per pigeon. Pigeons can also be collected at the Kassel Fair in Germany (November 28–29), or one day prior in the Netherlands and Belgium.
